Day 11: Making Memories with Scrapbooking

31days_300

I count it as a blessing when my parents sent us, me and my sisters, to Catholic school since were at Kindergarden until Junior High. At school, they taught us to sew and stitch since I was at third grade. That was where I got my interest in crafting, cross-stitching and sewing using hand. Though I would never forget how strict was that school just for girl.

In 2009 I started learning about scrapbooking and just love doing it. Then I saw lots of layouts using any kind of stitchings on them. I can hand-stitch, but not with sewing machine, since I don’t have one. But I would love love love to have one in the future and learn how to sew. I have a list of what I would love to make when I have a sewing machine (and someone have to teach me or get into a sewing class!)

One of the way I am making memories alive is through scrapbooking. This is one of the layout I made for our our mini album. On this layout I use hand-stitching for the vine, leaves and the title. How much I love hand-stitching, and now I can use the technique for my scrapbook layout. Stitching gives a different perspective and totally a cool embellishment 🙂

This layout I link up at Scrapbook & Cards Today for the Janome – Show Us Your Stitches Contest 2013:

A few weeks ago I found this Stitching Guide from Close To My Heart and I LOVE IT! It is very easy to use. To make beautiful stitches, you also will need  this amazing piercing tool kit.
